Meet the Director of Food and Beverage

Director of Food and Beverage, Chef Kevin Kueppers

Chef Kevin Kueppers

On paper, The Courtyard at Delta’s Chef Kevin Kueppers is a “creative, dynamic and resourceful Executive Chef with 30 years of success in fine dining, casual dining and catering.” However, in the kitchen, Chef Kevin’s varied career as an owner, chef, manager, and culinary instructor is quite flavorful and as layered as a delicate soufflé!

A Michigan native who graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, SC, Chef Kevin originally oversaw a South Carolina catering company where he served up to 300 dinners at various locations daily. He then moved way up north to Allen’s on the Danforth in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where he served as Executive Chef followed by a move back south to Charleston and the Carolina Yacht Club. Former Executive Chef at the Walnut Hills Country Club in East Lansing

Eventually a position as a culinary instructor at Lansing Community College and a position as the Executive Chef at the Walnut Hills Country Club in East Lansing led him home to Michigan. After several more Michigan winters, the sun and surf of St. Thomas and the Virgin Islands called, and Chef Kevin answered with the establishment of threebeachside restaurants, two of which were named after his children, Robert and Ainsley. His Caribbean specialties, Low Country and Southern favorites, Italian tastes, and eclectic creations achieved near cult-like status among his frequent waterfront guests.A decade later, Chef Kevin returned to Michigan and became a favorite among the Lansing Country Club and Tavern 109 set.
